Interviewing 101

When you think about it, choosing or changing a career is not an everyday event - perhaps that's why so many new licensees looking for a real estate brokerage to join are often ill prepared to chose right combination of company, broker and partners to assist them towards success. The residential real estate profession, generally, offers few if any established techniques to prepare a new associate to make an informed choice as to which brokerage would best suit their needs.

While other companies may be circling, like a shark ready to strike, Keller Williams would rather you have the information you need to make an informed choice - to that end we have prepared this reference. While this may not be the final word on how to you should choose a brokerage, we hope, that with this basic framework you will be closer to a successful real estate career.

This guide has been prepared to provide grounding in four general areas of concern to the new REALTOR®.

1. Preparing for the broker interview.

2. How to avoid the common mistakes.

3. Critical question - Getting the answers you need.

4. Apples to Apples - Comparing competing brokerages.

With the framework of this reference in place, you will be able to approach your new career with confidence and instead of reacting to events; you will have greater control of the interview and selection process.

But, before we get to the hard part, you are most likely wondering, "Why is Keller Williams Realty is giving me this information? Aren't they trying to recruit me to work for them?"  The answer to both questions is simple. Keller Williams is not your traditional brokerage. We believe that given a level playing field (a set of unbiased questions you should have the answers for), we may provide a career-enriching environment for you to become one of the finest REALTORS® in the industry.
